How do I care for my TAMARA COMOLLI jewelry?

To ensure you enjoy your jewelry for years to come, and make it last for generations, follow these tips on proper care, storage and servicing:

STORING:

• Make sure that your pieces of jewelry are stored separately from each other. To ensure that gemstones and gold remain in good condition over the years and do not get scratched, we provide beautiful, lightweight pouches and travel packaging which you can use to store your jewelry and protect it.

• Store diamond jewelry separately. Diamonds are extremely hard and can easily scratch gold, pearls and precious stones.

• Do not place your rings on the edge of the sink – many rings get lost this way

WEARING:

• To avoid scratches, wear gemstone bracelets away from your watch.
  
  
• Make sure your jewelry does not come into contact with perfumes, soap, chemical products or cosmetics, as these could affect the color and natural appearance of the materials. Apply hairspray, perfume, sunscreen or nail polish remover and allow to completely dry before putting on jewelry.
  
  
• Jewelry should be removed before sunbathing, entering a sauna or swimming in chlorinated water or salt water. Some gemstones lose their color in the sun and are damaged by chlorine. Jewelry made from precious wood is especially sensitive. We recommend avoiding all contact with water when wearing these pieces.
  
  
• Avoid jewelry coming into contact with hard surfaces like marble or stone.
  
  
• If you notice that a stone is loose or damaged, have it fixed immediately so that you do not lose it.

CLEANING:

• Most of our jewelry can be cleaned at home simply using lukewarm water and soap. Once washed and rinsed, dry the jewelry with a soft tissue or to prevent new deposits or water marks from appearing.
  
  
• Jewelry made from precious wood is especially sensitive. We recommend avoiding all contact with water when wearing these pieces.

When you wear your jewelry a lot, signs of wear are inevitable. We provide a cleaning and repair service with ultrasonic cleaning, polishing, rhodium plating and size adjustment. Visit one of our worldwide boutiques or contact Customer Service to receive any of the following services.

CLEANING SERVICE:

Following a professional consultation, your jewelry will be cleaned in an ultrasonic bath in warm soapy water, then carefully polished with a special care cloth to produce the perfect shine.

POLISHING SERVICE:

We also offer a polishing service for light to deep scratches, carried out professionally by our experienced goldsmiths. Your jewellery must be sent to our TAMARA COMOLLI workshop in Germany.

Before polishing, your jewelry is examined and assessed based on specific quality criteria. Polishing is a multi-stage process and guarantees a new, radiant shine. A small amount of metal is removed in the process, so we recommend performing this service only on the odd occasion. The jewelry is then cleaned in an ultrasonic bath with warm soapy water. A final quality check guarantees your jewelry meets our high standards.

You will receive a personalized quote for jewelry polishing based on the type of jewelry involved.

WHITE GOLD JEWELRY SERVICE:

To enhance the distinct brilliance of 18K white gold, we offer rhodium plating as part of the jewelry polishing process.

SIZE FITTING SERVICE:

Many jewelry items can be resized to suit you personally. We are happy to advise you on the perfect fit and our size fitting services in one of our boutiques. Once sized, the jewelry is polished, cleaned and finally tested against high quality and design standards. 

Please note: resizing may affect the original design, and we cannot guarantee resizing is available for every item.

Is it possible to get a new nylon strap for a myMIKADO Bracelet?
